Chocolate Peppermint Kiss Cookies

INGREDIENTS
  1. 1 cup butter , softened
  2. 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  3. 2 large eggs
  4. 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  5. 2 cup all-purpose flour
  6. 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  7. 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  8. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  9. 24 Hershey's peppermint kiss candies
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl combine the butter and sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat until well combined.
  4. Stir together flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt; add to the bowl with the wet ingredients.
  5. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons onto a parchment lined cookie sheet.
  6. Bake for about 10 minutes or just until set. (Cookies may appear soft but will set up after removing them from the oven to cool for a few minutes.)
  7. Place a peppermint kiss in the center of each cookie.
